Van Build Technician / Shop Technician

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Van Build Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and enjoys building complete vehicle systems. We’re looking for a generalist who can confidently work across multiple trades and produce clean, professional installations with minimal supervision.

About the Job

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building complete, high-quality vehicles and wants to be part of a team focused on craftsmanship rather than production-line assembly. Experience is required; this is not an entry-level position.

Responsibilities

  • Install aftermarket automotive accessories and camper van components Install windows, vent fans, roof racks, side steps, ladders, and exterior accessories
  • Run wiring harnesses and install 12V electrical components, lighting, solar systems, and batteries
  • Install structural framing systems, insulation, wall panels, ceiling panels, and flooring
  • Build and install cabinetry and interior components
  • Install plumbing systems including fresh water, gray water, pumps, sinks, and fixtures
  • Read installation drawings and follow assembly procedures
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and fabricate solutions when necessary
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Deliver work that meets high standards for fit, finish, and reliability

Required Qualifications

  • Professional experience building camper vans, RVs, overland vehicles, boats, or similar custom projects
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with multiple disciplines including:
  • Automotive accessory installation
  • Electrical wiring and 12V systems
  • Solar installation
  • Carpentry and cabinet installation
  • Plumbing
  • General fabrication
  • Ability to safely use common shop tools and power tools
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Experience

  • Camper van conversion industry
  • Automotive, marine, RV, or aerospace assembly
  • Cabinet making or finish carpentry
  • Metal fabrication
  • CNC-built cabinetry installation
  • Experience with lithium battery systems, inverters, and Victron electrical equipment
